Our Commitment to Sustainable & Responsible Tourism
Preserving the Wonder of Indonesia for Generations to Come
At Bali Trip Cost Guide, we believe that true luxury is not just about opulent experiences, but about experiences that are responsible, respectful, and regenerative. The breathtaking beauty and vibrant culture of the Indonesian archipelago are precious resources that we have a duty to protect. As a core principle of our parent, Juara Holding Group, sustainability is not an afterthought; it is woven into the very fabric of our operations, from our office policies to the partners we select and the itineraries we design. Our commitment is to ensure that our presence has a positive and lasting impact on the environment and the local communities.
Environmental Stewardship
We are dedicated to minimizing our ecological footprint and actively contributing to the conservation of Indonesia’s unique biodiversity.
- Carbon Offsetting Program: We understand that travel has a carbon cost. For every journey planned, we calculate the estimated carbon footprint from flights and ground transportation and make a corresponding contribution to certified Indonesian carbon offset projects, such as the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve in Borneo, which protects vital orangutan habitats.
- War on Plastics: We enforce a strict single-use plastic reduction policy, both in our own operations and with our partners. Our clients are provided with high-quality reusable water bottles and locally-made tote bags at the start of their trip, and we work with hotels and yachts that have robust water filtration systems and non-plastic alternatives.
- Marine Conservation Support: Indonesia is the heart of the Coral Triangle. A portion of our revenue from all marine-based activities (yachting, diving, snorkeling) is donated directly to our conservation partners, including The Nature Conservancy Indonesia and the Coral Triangle Center in Sanur, Bali, to support their critical work in coral reef protection and marine ecosystem management.
Community Empowerment & Economic Impact
Our goal is to ensure that the economic benefits of tourism flow directly to the local communities that make these experiences possible.
- Prioritizing Local Employment: Over 95% of our core team and our network of guides, drivers, and boat crews are Indonesian nationals. We are committed to fair wages, providing stable employment, and investing in professional development and training for our local staff.
- Supporting Local Enterprises: We actively seek out and partner with locally-owned businesses, from boutique hotels to family-run restaurants. Our itineraries emphasize sourcing local produce and materials, keeping the economic benefits within the community.
- Direct Support for Artisans: We facilitate private, respectful workshops with master artisans, such as the silversmiths of Celuk village or the Gringsing weavers of Tenganan. We ensure that the artisans are compensated fairly and directly, creating a sustainable model that helps preserve these ancient crafts.
- Community Development Initiatives: Through the Juara Foundation, the philanthropic arm of our parent group, we invest in education and health infrastructure in remote villages our clients visit, particularly in areas like Flores and West Sumba.
Cultural Preservation
We approach Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage with the utmost respect and strive to be ambassadors for its preservation.
- Cultural Etiquette Education: Every client receives a detailed pre-arrival guide on local customs, traditions, and etiquette, including appropriate dress for temple visits and behavior during ceremonies.
- Respectful Itinerary Design: Our experts, like those on our team, design itineraries that respect local schedules and religious observances, such as avoiding disruptive activities during major ceremonies or Bali’s day of silence, Nyepi.
- Promoting Heritage Sites: We encourage visits to lesser-known but culturally significant sites, helping to distribute the impact of tourism and provide financial support for the preservation of these heritage locations.
Our commitment to sustainability is an ongoing journey. We continuously seek new ways to improve our practices and deepen our positive impact. When you travel with us, you are not just a tourist; you are a partner in the preservation of Indonesia’s incredible natural and cultural legacy.
